Join Alpventures® Best of Bavaria and Bohemia Tour on an amazing cultural, historical, and scenic adventure to central and southern Germany. This fun Sightseeing Tour includes Regensburg, Munich and Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps, Herrenchiemsee Castle, Prague and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, the Salzkammergut Lake Region and Salzburg in Austria, and finishes at the famous Munich Oktoberfest. we start of with a visit to historic Regensburg - located on the old trade route and an important location in the history of Bavaria, we'll see the old town and Roman bridge before enjoying our welcome dinner at the world's oldest Monastery restaurant. We continue into the Czech Republic (now called "Czechia") for a stop in Pilsen and two overnights in beautiful Prague. Tour the wonderful old town and take in the panoramic view from Prague Castle. Then its off to the south of Bohemia, where we will experience the enchanting medieval village of Cesky Krumlov before heading into Austria. Overnight in Austria's scenic lake region and visit the "Sound of Music" city - Salzburg. The scenery gets better and better as we travel along part of the German Alpine Road to the majestic mountain resort of Berchtesgaden. From being once a home to Monks, then a holiday retreat for Bavarian Kings; to developing into an alpine fortress for Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich, the area has more to offer than breathtaking views. Our journey through the Bavarian countryside will be accompanied by plenty of engaging historical commentary along the way. So, when we arrive in Munich for the last two days of the trip, you will be well versed in the rich culture and history of amazing Bavaria. We will complete our journey with a guided tour of Munich, and of course we will finish off with a visit to the famous Munich Oktoberfest (table reservations included)! September 21: IN FLIGHT - to Munich, Germany (MUC)

September 22: REGENSBURG, GERMANY
Arrival this morning at Munich Airport in Bavaria, Germany, and meet your Tour Guide and Coach Driver. Continue north to historic Regensburg - located on the Danube River near the borders of Czechia and Austria. We will have a Guided City Tour of Regensburg and then check in at our hotel in the city center. This afternoon you will have some free time to explore more of the city or relax at our hotel before our Welcome Dinner tonight. Tonight's dinner will be a traditional Bavarian meal at the world's oldest Monastery Brewery - Weltenburger am Dom. Overnight Regensburg. (D)

September 23: PILSEN / PRAGUE, CZECHIA
Breakfast. After check out this morning, we continue our journey with a scenic drive into Czechia (Czech Republic). Lunch at the famous Pilsner Urquell Brewery in Pilsen. After lunch we will continue on to Prague for a stop at Prague Castle. Built in the 9th century, the castle has long served as the seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of (former) Czechoslovakia. Enjoy the panoramic view of the city and walk across the famous Charles Bridge. Hotel check in and dinner. Overnight Prague. (B, D)

September 24: PRAGUE, CZECHIA
Breakfast. Today we will have all day in Prague - beginning with a Guided Walking Tour of Prague Old Town. See the most iconic locations in the city, such as the Old Town Square and Astronomical Clock. Afternoon is at leisure in Prague, for seeing more of the city, visiting one of Prague's amazing museums, and/or shopping, etc. Late afternoon transfer back to our hotel and dinner on your own tonight. September 25: CESKY KRUMLOV, CZECHIA
After breakfast this morning, we will check out of our Prague hotel and we will continue south to the hills of Southern Bohemia. Our destination today is enchanting Český Krumlov - among the country's best preserved medieval villages. Lunch en route. This afternoon, we will check in at our hotel and have the rest of the day free to wander the narrow, cobblestone streets and walk up to the small castle (optional). Tonight, we will enjoy a traditional medieval dinner together in a historic restaurant. Dinner. Overnight Český Krumlov. (B, D)

September 26: SALZKAMMERGUT, AUSTRIA
Breakfast and hotel check-out this morning. We will depart Czechia today and continue south via Linz into beautiful Austria. Lunch en route. The view continues to get better and better, as we make our way into the scenic Salzkammergut - Austria's enchanting lake district. We will make some photo stops along the way to Lake Mondsee, where we will check in at our hotel. Take in the spectacular views this afternoon, wander through town, or just relax with a drink before dinner. Dinner on your own tonight. Overnight Mondsee. (B)

September 27: SALZBURG, AUSTRIA
Breakfast. Check out of our hotel this morning, and head west for the short drive to Salzburg; birthplace of the famous Composer, W.A. Mozart and the setting for The Sound of Music. We will spend half of the day in this incredible Baroque city; seeing many Sound of Music sights and more as we enjoy a Guided Tour of the Old Town. Highlights will include Mozart's birth house, the Salzburg Cathedral, St. Peter's Church and Franciscan Monastery, as well as the Residence and High Salt Fortress. Break for lunch and some free time before we continue to the nearby alpine resort town of Berchtesgaden, Bavaria (Germany). Arrival at our hotel for check in and dinner. Overnight Berchtesgaden. September 28: BERCHTESGADEN, GERMANY
Breakfast. Today we will start with a short drive up to the Obersalzberg (Upper Salt Mountain), and catch the special mountain bus up to the Kehlsteinhaus, or "Eagle's Nest". The building was constructed in 1937-38 as a mountaintop retreat for Nazi Dictator, Adolf Hitler. The views from the Eagle's Nest are spectacular in good weather. Return to the Obersalzberg and visit the newly renovated Documentation Center (museum) and underground wartime bunker (air-raid shelter). Lunch. Return to the village of Berchtesgaden for free time this afternoon. Dinner on your own. Overnight Berchtesgaden. (B)

September 29: BERCHTESGADEN, GERMANY
Breakfast at leisure this morning. Today we continue our scenic and historical journey with a scenic Driving Tour through the valley of Berchtesgaden; where we will see some important historical and scenic locations like the Main Train Station, Ramsau, and Lake Hintersee. Lunch. Afternoon visit to either Lake Koenigssee (weather permitting) or the Berchtesgaden Salt Mines. Return to our hotel for dinner. Overnight Berchtesgaden. (B, D)

September 30: LAKE CHIEMSEE, GERMANY
Breakfast and check out of our hotel this morning. Today, leave the Berchtesgadener Land for nearby Chiemgau, where we will stop in the town of Prien am Chiemsee. Here, we will catch a boat for a short ride on the lake to the island of Herreninsel - we'll have a short walk (or horse-drawn carriage ride) to the Schloss Herrenchiemsee for a Guided Tour of the castle. Lunch. Return to Prien and continue to our hotel at the foot of the alps for check in and relax before dinner. Overnight Chiemsee. (B, D)

October 1: MUNICH OKTOBERFEST
Breakfast and check-out. Today we transfer north to Munich, the bustling capital of the State of Bavaria. Enjoy a short Driving Tour of Munich before we stop in the Old Town for lunch. Free time in the city before we transfer to our hotel for check-in and relax before we head to the Oktoberfest for our visit to a beer tent with a Bavarian Dinner. Overnight Munich. (B, D)

October 2: MUNICH, GERMANY
Breakfast. Today is a full free day in Munich for personal interests; such as taking a special tour to nearby sites like Neuschwanstein Castle or Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site - or just exploring more of Munich's Old Town for shopping or additional sightseeing. Munich is home to dozens of museums - especially art museums! Perhaps you will want to go back to the Munich Oktoberfest for more fun there. Overnight Munich. (B)

The Fine Print

Reservation Policy:  Book Alpventures Best of Bavaria and Bohemia Tour by January 30, 2026. A completed and signed Tour Reservation Form and a refundable $400 deposit (per person) are required to book our Tours. Payments are made to: ALPVENTURES. Payment in full is due 45 days prior to departure, and must be paid by check, credit card, or by bank transfer.

Cancellation Policy:  Although Tour cancellations are not anticipated, Alpventures® reserves the right to cancel Tours for any reason, prior to Tour departure date, in which case the entire payment will be refunded without further obligation on Alpventures® part.
